Carl Marsh: You are both working together again (Hanna – airs on Amazon Prime March 29th), in an indirect sort of way but who got the part first? Mireille Enos: I happened to be working over in Oxford, and David Farr (the writer of the show) was able to drive out. We sat down and talked about the part, and then I started reading it. He let me know that Joel was his greatest wish for Erik and that couldn’t…

Carl Marsh: We all know of your character Lee Nelson, even some might actually think he is a real person but what sort of experience do you want the audience leave with after seeing the show? Simon: Good question, funnier is what they will leave with. It’s part of the mini-tour, which I’m sure you know, that’s part of the Lee Nelson tour. The Serious Joker tour. I think this is something like the fourth leg of the tour. The…

Carl Marsh: What is your go-to food? James Martin: Fish and chips. Without a shadow of a doubt. That’s my nemesis, fish and chips. Carl: What? From a chippy or home-cooked? James: A chippy. A chip shop, yes. You can’t get fish and chips cooked at home like you can do in a fish and chip shop. Carl: I know, but don’t you live down South (England) as I always was told they tasted nicer up North? James: Well,…

Did you find it harder writing the songs for this new record than you did before with any of the others? Matt: I found this album quite tough. If I’m honest, this was the hardest record we’ve ever made, or I’ve ever made. It was quite a struggle. We’ve probably written 50 songs in this record, and we scrapped two albums worth before we decided which direction to take. While we had an album budget to make this from the…

I know that you know our history better than most people but when do you think that people were starting to talk more, rather than always reverting to violence first? Dan Snow: Well, I think it happened in different places and at different times. It goes back to ancient Greece, and violence is a regular feature of the human condition. Violence benefits the very, very rich people and the very, very poor people. The very, very rich can steal the…

You are coming home to Cardiff, playing at the St David’s Hall on March the 3rd, what can we expect? Well, I’ll be putting some more hits that I did the last time because of the title of the tour, Greatest Hits and more. There’ll be other songs in there as well. There will be some songs from Echoes Of Our Time and also tracks that I haven’t done or included in the sets for quite a while. Some of…

Set on Cowbridge road east is the fetching Purple Poppadom Indian restaurant. The restaurant had a lovely airy feel to it and the decor was very contemporary. Upon arrival, we were greeted straight away and quickly shown to our seats and offered drinks. Carl Marsh and I  asked the waiter for his recommendations. He was knowledgeable and explained the different curry offerings and spice intensity. We opted for a traditional ‘SHEEKH KEBAB’ and ‘PRAWN PORICHATHU’ to start. The sheekh…

Whitchurch High School’s very own Elinor Crawley, has appeared in many screen productions such as Vikings and The White Queen since her debut in the Welsh made film Submarine. Carl Marsh got to talk about her latest movie Burning Men. Your latest film has a POV (point of view) camera angle to it, and it took me a little while to get used to it, but once I did, I really did get to experience a film like no other…
