19/09/2014

On 13th September, Dilys Price OBE and Megan Fears took to the skies to undertake the oldest and youngest skydive challenge, and it was a huge success! The two women took on the hair raising challenge to raise vital funds for Touch Trust, who do invaluable work with the severely disabled and vulnerable groups in the community. Completing the jump, the pair managed to raise more than £3000 on their Just Giving page, which is still open for donations.

For Megan, the experience was her first ever parachute jump: she dedicated it to her brother Greg, a much loved regular guest of Touch Trust. Their mother writes, “What we found in Touch Trust was something unique. It gave my son, Greg, the opportunity to participate in all the creative activities he loved: music, dance, art and much more.”

Dilys, founder and director of Touch Trust, made the Guinness World Records as the oldest person to make a solo parachute jump. Aged 80 years and 315 days, this was Dilys’ 128th solo dive! She says:

“Megan & I are elated now we have done what we set out to do. The weather was wonderful with clear views over the Gower and all the staff at Skydive Swansea were unbelievably supportive. Megan was fantastic –never in doubt about what she was determined to do for Touch Trust, Greg her brother and our many lovely friends. Megan’s dad and granddad want to do a skydive now and Megan says she wants to go again!”
