LUDO Sports & Live Lounge launches in Cardiff with a “Beat the Scrum” challenge, featuring rugby legend Alun Wyn Jones. On Saturday 27th September from 12–4pm outside the new St Mary’s Street venue, the public can compete to test their strength against the former Welsh captain.

Fresh from opening its doors on 25th September, LUDO will showcase its energy, atmosphere and love of sport right outside its front door, 117 St Mary’s Street, with a professional scrum machine, a live leaderboard, and prizes for every challenger.

Each participant gets one test of strength, their peak force logged instantly, and the chance to claim bragging rights against the most-capped international player in rugby history.

All participants in the “Beat the Scrum Challenge” receive a drinks credit at LUDO, thanks to Mimosa Rwm Espiritu. The top ten entrants (plus a guest) earn invites to LUDO’s VIP launch party; the top five also get a round of drinks for four, valid from 27th September to 27th October. The overall winner receives all these rewards plus a £250 bar tab.

The action doesn’t end there. Inside, the celebrations continue with live sport streamed across multiple screens, including the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final on Cardiff’s biggest outdoor screen, as well as social darts, basketball and a delicious food and drinks menu.

Cardiff is synonymous for hosting large sports and entertainment events, although the rugby is usually kept in the stadium! So seeing the scrum machine on St Marys street is a fitting way to mark LUDO’’s opening. Myself and everyone at Mimosa Rwm are excited to continue our journey with LUDO’s presence in Cardiffsaid Alun Wyn Jones.

Cardiff deserves a venue that can host a big game night. LUDO is built for that, and this launch puts it on the map for everyone to experience. We’re excited to welcome Alun Wyn and the Mimosa Rum Espiritu team for what we hope will be a long-lasting and exciting partnership, with more joint events to come,” says ETM CEO, Ed Martin.
