For quite some time now, bottomless brunches have dominated the food and drink scene, offering unlimited plates and free-flowing drinks. However, TGI Fridays’ are switching things up.
Those familiar with the New York-founded chain will know that their Sesame Chicken is nothing short of iconic and a true fan favourite. Following an enormous appetite for the dish, TGI Fridays are reintroducing their Bottomless Sesame Chicken experience, running from the 5-31 January 2026.
As someone who orders this dish every single time without fail, I couldn’t pass up the chance to put it to the test. With unlimited plates on offer for 90 minutes, I was determined to see just how many I could manage!
First up, drinks were a must and luckily for us, TGI Fridays’ offers some of the best in the game, from classic cocktails to indulgent shakes. The Sober Loader combines some of my favourite flavours: elderflower, passion fruit and cranberry, which was blended with an orange sorbet that made the perfect refreshing start. The orange sorbet really made the drink stand out, adding a bright, citrusy freshness that lifted the whole drink and made it feel more indulgent than your average mocktail.
Before we knew it, our first plate of chicken arrived, and it smelled and looked just as good as it tasted. The crispy, golden strips were generously coated in the famous Signature Whiskey Glaze, finished with toasted sesame seeds and chilli flakes. The result was the perfect combination of sweet, smoky and subtle spice.
It’s the sauce that really sells this dish, and TGI Fridays clearly know it as each serving came with an extra pot of glaze on the side for dipping. Of all the plates, the quality of the chicken never disappointed and the bold flavours made it incredibly moreish. To my delight, there was plenty more still to come.
With the first plate quickly polished off, our waiter was quick to bring another dish over without us even needing to ask. It’s worth mentioning that the service throughout was excellent; the staff were friendly, attentive and more than happy to explain the experience to us.
TGI Friday’s has always been a childhood favourite and the atmosphere was just as I remembered it. The energy of the bold colours and memorabilia around the space really hits the American theme perfectly, adding to the overall experience.
After my second plate, I was starting to feel full, but with a little encouragement, I prepared to take on my third. If it had been any other dish, I’m not sure I could have managed it but the flavours were just too good to turn down, making another plate of chicken impossible to resist.
Proud of my attempt, I had to stop after three plates and the waiter kindly gave me a takeaway box for the fourth plate of chicken. Believe it or not, I still wasn’t fed up of the taste, as it made for the perfect lunch the next day!
Overall, the experience was fantastic. A casual, warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellent service and some of the best-tasting chicken around. What more could you ask for?
