Armonico Consort at St David’s Hall on the 20th October

16/10/2015

The International Concert Series continues at St David’s Hall next Tuesday (20 October) with the acclaimed Armonico Consort featuring one of the most exciting talents in Welsh classical music.

Swansea soprano Elin Manahan Thomas will share the stage with the supremely talented trio of William Towers, Alexander Aldren and Yvette Bonner for a powerful programme of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

Written just weeks before his death at just 25, Pergolesi’s imperishable Stabat Mater is one of the most moving works of the Baroque. Hear it alongside Purcell’s great opera Dido and Aeneas, whose characters breathe the genuine passions of love and death.

Directed by the acclaimed Christopher Monks, Armonico Consort consistently delight audiences with their fresh, youthful performances of Baroque music. This night will prove no different as a sensational full cast of soloists bring to life more great masterpieces.

There will be also an insightful free pre-concert talk by Peter Reynolds entitled Two Youthful Masterworks, Two Youthful Deaths from 6.30pm-7pm at the venue’s Lefel 1.

Experience the amazing Armonico Consort live at St David’s Hall!

Tickets are priced £22.50 (*plus a £2.95 Ticket Service Charge per transaction and an optional 95p postage fee), and Students tickets are just £3!
