Facebook and small business network Enterprise Nation have teamed up to deliver a nationwide series of free Boost Your Business events to thousands of entrepreneurs in a bid to help small British businesses grow.

The Boost Your Business Summer Tour kicks off in Leeds on June 29, and moves on to Edinburgh, Cardiff, Birmingham and finishes in Manchester on July 9. It will offer high-impact tips and techniques on how to build a strong digital presence.

.

As well as sharing practical advice and 1:1 consultation on the ground, the tour will also deliver training to over 3,500 e-commerce advisers through a new learning programme via the Enterprise Nation Marketplace. The training will share important knowledge to help upskill the UK’s small business community and enable them to continue to grow and flourish.

Ciaran Quility, Facebook SMB director, EMEA said: “Facebook is a great way for SMEs to reach existing customers and find new ones, simply because it’s where people are spending their time. People check Facebook on their mobiles an average of 14 times a day and, in the UK, 24 million people are coming back on mobile every day.  This is democratising marketing for small businesses – giving all of these businesses the same tools so that they can grow easily and effectively – regardless of size, location, and industry or skill level.

“We’re on the road for the Summer Tour to talk– and most importantly listen – to small businesses around how Facebook can help them to grow.  Events will involve a mix of best practice talks, panels with local SMEs and 1:1 consultations with Facebook business experts.”

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: “Mastering Facebook is one of the top skills start-ups and small businesses tell us they want to learn. Taking time to study critical Facebook techniques will help firms ensure their content is hitting the mark, targeting the right people, appearing in news feeds more often and efficiently and connecting them with influencers.

“It’s one of those skills that people think they understand by osmosis, when in fact there is a lot more to it than that.  The Boost Your Business Summer Tour is a call to action and will take information, advice and networking to the regions in order to reach more people face-to-face as well as connecting them online.

“In order to leverage this further, Facebook has developed a Blueprint learning path for those who offer advice to businesses via the Enterprise Nation Marketplace. It will help to develop a 4,000-strong army of advisers ready to deliver the Facebook techniques far and wide.”

Facebook reports that there are 35 million people in the UK using the platform, and almost 74% of those are using Facebook to connect to at least one local business. There are now over 40 million business pages and two million active advertisers on Facebook globally.

An incredible 43% of the UK’s 64.1 million-strong population are on Facebook.

The tour will deliver a programme of ten events, two in each location, reaching 3,000 businesses. They will include Facebook tips as well as local success stories, networking and a chance to win £500 worth of Facebook advertising credit. The events are:
