14/06/2017

The beach is back – Cardiff will once again create its own seafront with the return of the Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach (Friday July 28 – Sunday September 3 cardiffbaybeach.co.uk), to entertain families throughout the school holidays.

The urban beach, which has become such a hit in the Bay in recent years, is again expected to attract a quarter of a million people to the Cardiff waterfront, with a bucket full of traditional seaside attractions.

The Cardiff Bay Beach is brought to the city once again by Welsh events specialists Sayers Amusements, whose director Norman George Sayers said: “The beach has been so popular since we set it up four summers ago, so it’s great news that it returns by popular demand. Each year we try to bring something new to the party, and so we’re looking into refreshing the attractions once again this summer, to create another fun-filled, safe environment for children of all ages.”

Headline sponsors, Capital FM, South Wales No.1 Hit Music Station will be hitting the beach across the summer with chances to win some amazing prizes.  Kristy John, Station Director at Capital FM said: “Summer lives on Capital so it’s a perfect fit for us to partner with one of South Wales’ biggest summer attractions! We’re so excited for the return, Keep it Capital to find out what we have planned.”

The beach features a giant child-friendly sandy beach, a shallow water play area, a variety of rides and games, a giant wheel with views across the bay, free live entertainment, great food and drink, and traditional deck chairs for visitors to chill out in the summer sun. Entry to the Cardiff Bay Beach is free, and there are chargeable facilities on site.

The beach is located in Roald Dahl Plass on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, is open from 10am to 8pm Sunday – Thursday, and 10am to 10pm Friday and Saturday.
