Help welcome Dogs Trust Cardiff’s new residents with a ‘pawfect’ gift

As Dogs Trust gears up for the opening of its Cardiff rehoming centre later this summer, the charity has launched an Amazon wishlist for any dog lovers wanting to treat the new arrivals to a welcome gift.

With final preparations underway, the team have been inundated with requests from generous members of the public wanting to help welcome the first doggy residents onto the new site in Nettlefold Road, Splott. Whilst the dogs will have everything they need when they arrive, the team have lovingly handpicked additional items they know the dogs will love – from tasty treats and toys to cosy blankets and beds should anyone want to make them feel even more at home.

Angela Wetherall, Centre Manger at Dogs Trust Cardiff says: “The generosity of our supporters never ceases to amaze me and we have been getting lots of lovely messages from people asking us how they can help settle new residents into our care.

“Our dogs will have everything they need when they arrive with us, from state of the art kennels, to spacious outdoor paddocks, toys galore and treats aplenty – with plenty of love of course. But our Amazon wishlist is full of extra items should anyone want to buy them a welcome gift. Whether that’s a long lasting chew or puzzle feeder for extra enrichment time in their kennel, or a toy that they can enjoy during playtime. The Amazon wishlist means you can send a gift at the click of a button and it’ll get delivered straight to us.”

Spread over eight acres, facilities at Dogs Trust Cardiff includes:

  • 74 spacious kennels with underfloor heating
  • A fully-equipped grooming suite
  • 20 exercise paddocks
  • Training hall
  • Veterinary facilities, including a physiotherapy and hydrotherapy suite
  • Specialist puppy rearing suite, with two large puppy kennels and a whelping room for any pregnant mums.

The rehoming centre is expecting to welcome its first doggie residents by the end of July. If you would like to send a welcome gift, visit the Amazon Wishlist
