International Welsh Cabaret Festival – Bringing the glitter back to Wales

Stephanie Gawne and Ceri Harris are delighted to announce the launch of the first International Welsh Cabaret Festival to grace the stage in Cardiff. The 2 day festival will be held on the 13th and 14th November 2015 at the Sherman Theatre, http://www.shermancymru.co.uk/homepage/

Stephanie and Ceri were both involved in the successful Welsh Burlesque festival’s of 2012-13, Stephanie as a director and Ceri as a performer. Both wanted to expand the festival to include all cabaret styles, from comedy, singing, circus, burlesque and vaudeville.

 The festival will showcase new talent as well as celebrate all that is best within the International Cabaret scene. The Friday night will be dedicated to find people’s choice new face, in the first of the Cwtch Awards, the winner will then have the pleasure of performing on the Saturday Gala night, with some of the top names.

Our headliner for the Friday night is the award winning international vaudevillian performer Lou Safire http://www.lousafire.com/

 The Saturday night will give you glamour, comedy, singing and the alternative, with performers from across Europe gracing the stage, many are award winners, such as the Fire Craker of Burlesque, Lady Francescca from Sweden, who won the Miss Geneva crown in January 2015. http://www.ladyfrancescca.com/ and the amazing Aurora Galore,an Fire and Burlesque Performer whose influences stem from Haute Couture and avant garde fashion, turn-of-the-century Circus Freaks and a wide range of dance styles. http://www.auroragalore.com/

 A number of workshops will also be available over the 2 day event, along with a market place, supporting local business. All the performers on the Saturday night Gala have agreed to be included in a charity calendar, raising money for Breast Cancer, something that is close to both Stephanie and Ceri’s heart.
