Historic Landscapes

Join presenter Sean Fletcher as he discovers the fascinating history of Offa’s Dyke Path which is influenced by and roughly follows Offa’s Dyke, Britain’s oldest and longest monument. Dating back to the 8th century, the iconic earthwork monument of Offa’s Dyke stands up to eight metres high and was built on the command of King Offa as a divide between the two kingdoms. Today, the borderlands remain rich in natural beauty, local culture and history. Sean learns about Britain’s oldest and longest monument with outdoor adventures including kayaking and wild swimming in the River Wye to mountain biking in Llandegla Forest.
