Cardiff has been selected to play host to the Welsh leg of Currys PC World’s Ultimate Home of Football summer tour.
The ‘Ultimate Home of Football’ will take up residence in Cardiff’s from 14th – 16th June. On the 14th June it will reside at Cardiff City Football club, and on the 15th/16th June it will be at St David’s shopping centre to screen games from this summer’s biggest football tournament, before visiting various cities in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to offer fans of every European nation the chance to enjoy the very best 4K TV football viewing experience possible.
The UHoF will open to the Welsh public in Cardiff on 14th June, with national footballing legend John Hartson as he takes up the ‘best seat in the house’ to host Portugal v Iceland, at 8.00pm. Football fans are being offered the once-in-a-lifetime chance to be joined by John and up to nine of their own mates on the sofa to watch that game or any other of the games that will be shown in the UHof whilst it resides in Cardiff and enjoy a stadium-like 4K TV and Home Audio experience by applying to ‘own’ the UHoF for 90 minutes at www.currys.co.uk/footballwin

Football fans in other parts of the UK and Ireland are also being offered the chance to be joined on the sofa by Sports Presenter Kirsty Gallacher, Northern Ireland’s David Healy or the Republic of Ireland’s Paul McGrath. Lucky punters who get to ‘own’ it for 90 minutes will also be treated to free beer and the ultimate footy snack – the ‘game of two halves’ pizza featuring flavours and toppings which will change to reflect which nation is playing.
The ‘UHoF’ interior has been kitted out with a state-of-the-art Samsung 4K TV & Soundbar, Multi-room Home Audio System, Sony PlayStation and HTC VIVE virtual reality equipment designed to demonstrate to punters watching the tournament either in the ‘UHoF’ or back in their own homes how they can recreate a stadium-like atmosphere with the help of the right technology.
The ‘Ultimate Home of Football’ will also be open to the public during the times it’s not showing a match, so everyone will be able to experience the technology and receive guidance from Currys PC World’s expert tech team.
