THE National Youth Orchestra of Wales will celebrate its 70th birthday in style with its final concert of 2016 tour at St David’s Hall on Friday 5 August.

Plus, the world’s oldest national youth orchestra will be joined by acclaimed Conductor Carlo Rizzi, and there will be a specially written piece entitled A Fanfare of Our Youth by NYOW alumnus Gareth Wood to mark the incredible milestone anniversary.

Also on the repertoire is Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra and Richard Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben.

Earlier in the day at 1pm in the L3 Lounge, the National Youth of Wales Young Composers will perform an exciting concert showcasing new music written by some of Wales’ finest emerging talent.
