One of the hottest number one selling bands in the UK right now, Years and Years, will be bringing their unique electro-pop sounds to South Wales this summer on Friday 12th August 2016.

The ‘Desire’ hitmakers will be performing in the picturesque setting of Cooper’s Field, Bute Park, Cardiff, and the concert is brought to you by the organisers behind Pride Cymru, marking the organisations inaugural, ‘Party In The Parc’ event.

The British electronica trio consists of frontman and keyboard player Olly Alexander, bass guitarist Mikey Goldsworthy, and keyboardist Emre Türkmen. Years & Years won the prestigious BBC Sound of 2015 award and were also nominated for the Critics Choice Award at last year’s Brits. Their 2015 smash hit single “King”, reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and their first album, Communion also stormed to the top in the UK Albums Chart.

Tickets to Parc In The Parc, in association with Pride Cymru, will go on sale at 9am on Friday 3rd June via www.ticketmaster.co.uk and will be priced at £29.95, additional support acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

Lu Thomas, Party In The Parc co-founder and chair of the Pride Cymru committee said: “Years and Years are a big name in music, and getting great reviews for their current shows. Cooper’s Field is a beautiful setting for live music and we expect to attract crowds from across Wales and beyond.”

Lu Thomas continued: “We’re excited to be bringing this amazing band to our vibrant capital city which marks a whole weekend of music and celebration.  All profits from ticket sales will go towards funding Pride which has become a huge showcase event for the LGBT+ community in Wales and the South West so it’s essential we keep this event sustainable for the future.  Party in the Parc will hopefully raise vital funds towards this while giving people a great night out this summer.”
