Olly Murs was in Cardiff!

24/03/2017

Olly Olly Olly, Oi Oi Oi.

Olly Murs is the Cheeky Chappy everybody remembers from the X Factor. A fact he reminded the sold-out audience in Cardiff over two nights at the Motorpoint Arena as he sincerely thanked everybody for the support over the years. The night began with just over an hour of pop music DJ’d to us by Matt from Capital Radio to get everyone in the dancing spirit. As all the screens cut to black, the lights were suddenly turned onto the audience with cameras catching children, their parents, security guards, cameramen and Motorpoint staff dancing and laughing live to the pre show pop music. With the crowd now enthusiastic, Olly takes to the stage with a full 11 piece live band; including four backup singers, 3 brass players, 3 string players and a drummer all dressed in matching navy suits. Olly made sure each member of his on stage team had their individual moment; introducing them one by one before their solo performances.

Olly’s easy going personality makes you feel completely comfortable as a concert go-er and his upbeat energy is infectious. Of course the Welsh crowd needed no encouragement to join in an impromptu outburst of Nelly’s ‘Hot in here’ or his versions of Tina Turner’s ‘What’s love got to do with it’ & Justin Timberlake’s ‘Don’t Stop the Feeling.’ Included in the show were well known singles from the 70s right through to the present day and they are songs everyone can sing along to. His own hits including the opening ‘You don’t know love’ & ‘Dance with me Tonight’ were all part of the set and Olly had you dancing along with him. In-between performances, Olly took the time to chat to the audience and mixed the atmosphere from flirting with the crowd to letting us know his flaws and insecurities that are summed up in his songs ‘Grow up’ and ‘flaws’. All in all the concert was a lot of fun and you can tell Olly absolutely loves what he does. And that’s what makes him so easy & enjoyable to watch.

Olly has a summer 2017 tour jam packed with dates all over the UK available at www.ticketmaster.co.uk
