Climate change charity 10:10 has won a rail industry research competition for a ground-breaking study to explore the use of community-owned renewable energy and storage technologies to provide Welsh railways with a direct supply of electricity to power trains on newly electrified routes. UK children’s charity Family Fund has announced an additional £100,000 of funding for grants for families on low incomes raising disabled or seriously ill children in Wales. BBC Children in Need has allocated over £29,600 in new funding to a group working with disadvantaged children and young people across Cardiff. Children’s charity Dreams and Wishes has secured funding to support children from across South Wales who are living with life-limiting conditions – thanks to a renewed charity partnership with Thomson Airways.
