Libraries across South Wales are working with the charity Goldies Cymru to brighten the lives of older people through regular daytime boisterous FUN singalong sessions. Goldies Cymru started in Cardiff six years ago with just six daytime fun Sing&Smile sessions. With the support of The Big Lottery Fund in Wales and Cardiff-based Moondance Foundation, by the end of 2019 there will be over 80 regular sessions taken by 15 freelance leaders. A total of 28 talented artists and bands from across Wales have been successful in their bid for a music bursary worth a combined value of £35,000. Winners include artists such as iTunes chart-hitting reggae singer-songwriter Aleighcia Scott from Cardiff, who will use the bursary to produce a music video for her debut album.
