Wales celebrates series of tennis successes Morgan Cross (Wrexham TC) and Megan Davies (Ruthin LTC) have fulfilled a dream by lifting a trophy at Wimbledon. Aspiring Welsh tennis players enjoyed success in early pre-season tournaments nationally and internationally across various age groups. At the International Tennis Federation (ITF) event in Malta, Welsh U18s had a week to remember. Cardiff-based Matt Story reached the semi-finals in the male singles while Ricky Tong, also from Cardiff, secured a well-earned place in the quarter-finals. Katherine Maddock-Lyon has won the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) Aegon Coach of the Month award for her great work managing the performance programme at David Lloyd Cardiff. Through her dedication the programme has developed many players who have gone on to represent South Wales and Wales.
