We’re recreating our history…

Ahead of our first ever 999 Weekend taking place in Cardiff Bay next weekend (21st – 22nd September), we’re celebrating all things vintage.

Take a step back in time with us as our crews recreate Service photos taken up to 80 years ago.

It’s hard to imagine where the time has gone but its clear Stations, staff and equipment have seen some changes over the years.

We now cover an area of around 1,100 square miles, with 47 Stations serving a population of 1.4 million people.

The event will see us teaming up with our colleagues at South Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust to commemorate our combined proud history of keeping South Wales safe.

We will be displaying an archive of historical photos, vintage vehicles, uniform and equipment.

The jam-packed weekend will be a chance to see your blue light services in action, view first hand live lifesaving demonstrations of water and vehicle rescues, and see how technology has advanced to transform the way we work to keep you safe.

There will also be a chance to meet our teams, try out our equipment and speak to our recruitment staff about how you can be part of our future.
