This year Etsy is hosting its very own Etsy Awards in the UK and Ireland.

06/05/2016

With six awards across a mixture of categories, the Etsy Awards are set to celebrate and support the best of design across the UK and Ireland.

The Etsy Awards are a series of design awards created to celebrate and support local makers and designers throughout the UK and Ireland.

Etsy is offering a £10,000 small business grant to the People’s Choice winner, voted for by the public. Winners will also have the chance to have their products featured at the prestigious London Design Festival this September, receive top level business advice from industry experts and one lucky winner will have the chance to be stocked in John Lewis.

A 2014 survey of Etsy sellers from the UK reveals a network of entrepreneurs who value autonomy, creativity and flexibility in their working lives – motivated by the desire to be creative and to make the most of a good idea, using collaborative skills to drive innovation in a supportive online community. Etsy is consistently working to support these local makers and designers across the UK and Ireland and the Etsy Awards are just one way to recognise this incredible local community.

Etsy has partnered with 4 judges from the industry to select the cream of the crop from 5 main categories.

  • Anna Rigby, Head of Buying, Home at John Lewis
  • Patricia Van den Akker, Director of The Design Trust
  • Pip McCormac, Lifestyle Director at Red Magazine
  • Erica Davies, Blogger The Edited.

In addition to the 6 main awards Etsy has partnered with arts and craft organisations from around the UK and Ireland to select the best makers from 5 different regions. The winners of the England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland awards will also be showcased at the London Design Festival.

The awards application will open on 4th April.  To enter the awards or find out more please visit etsyawards.com
