Former Welsh rugby legend and TV personality Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies, cut the ribbon on the newly refurbished spa at the Corran Resort and Spa in Laugharne, on Monday, November 30.

The spa has been open to the public since early November, and guests will now find a refurbished swimming pool, gym and seven luxury treatments room that will be offering the latest indulgent and invigorating spa therapies. Although a retreat for guests staying at the hotel, the spa will also be open daily for members of the public.

The renovation has been taking place over the last three months and has seen new state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, sauna room, steam room and much larger gym added on to the previous spa facilities.

Peter Burnett, owner of the Corran Resort and Spa, said:

“The old spa was great and has served us well over the years, but the new spa, which will be open to guests and residents in the local area, is going to be much more inviting for members. It has introduced several state-of-the-art facilities, all to cater to our client’s needs.”

“We are also able to offer a membership fee to those who are not staying at the hotel so they can use the spa and gym facilities. We are the only spa within the local area and we wanted to build something extra that would encourage more people to come down and see what the Corran has to offer. Jonathan is a great friend and ambassador of the Corran, and I would like to thank him for taking the time out to come and officially open the spa for us.”

Phil Davies, former Welsh lock, and Bleddyn Bowen, former Wales centre and captain were also in attendance at the ribbon cutting.
