The 2017 Epic Awards winners’ reception took place at the Sage Gateshead on Sunday evening (19 March) as part of BBC Radio 3’s Free Thinking Festival. Students from three centres in Bridgend, Cardiff and Rhymney had the opportunity to showcase the skills learned at the free-to-attend specialist schools, which provide 14-16 year olds in Wales an insight into life within the Armed Forces and other Public Services such as the Fire Service. Award winning, Welsh choir, Only Men Aloud have chosen Alzheimer’s Society Cymru as their ‘Charity of the Year’ and have marked the occasion by becoming Dementia Friends.
