National charity Heart Research UK, in collaboration with law firm Walker Morris, has raised £43,000 with their ‘anonymous heART project’, auctioning unique artworks by a host of celebrities, politicians, artists and designers. St David’s College gives back to the community this Christmas. 64 people have been given a place to go this Christmas, thanks to St David’s students Staff and students at Cardiff-based St David’s Catholic Sixth Form College, have come together to raise over £1,800 for the homeless community in Cardiff. There is an ever-growing body of evidence that demonstrates the benefits of the arts in health and social care settings. A local retired portrait artist, 73 year-old Terry O’Callaghan, has painted a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and generously donated it to be auctioned off by the Royal British Legion. A pop-up exhibition to showcase the work of artists living with disabilities arrives at Cardiff Central this week, before continuing its tour of Great Britain. The travelling art exhibition, No Boundaries, which will be open to the public from 17th September – 6th October at Cardiff Central Station, has been designed to encourage people with disabilities to travel without boundaries.
