Patients with low vision are benefitting from an initiative developed by Visualise Training and Consultancy and funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust. Seeing Beyond the Eyes has released its impact report which highlights a huge increase in the number of optical professionals who will now refer patients with low vision to vital support services – up from only 9% to an impressive 96%. Founder of Visualise Training and Consultancy, Daniel Williams provided his specialist Visual Impairment Awareness Training to staff at Job Centre Plus, Harrow on the 7th of July 2015. Daniel, who is originally from Bath, trained advisors from the Access To Work scheme, training them to have more confidence when assisting, guiding and communicating with their visually impaired customers. Access To Work is a Government initiative that supports disabled people in the work place to remove any barriers they may face…

Miller and Carter Steakhouse in Bath teamed up with young local entrepreneur, Daniel Williams, to host a sensational ‘Dining in the Dark’ experience, where all diners were blindfolded for the duration of the event so they could understand the challenges of having a visual impairment.
