Principality Building Society is to invest £60,000 to help provide more than 1,500 Cardiff secondary school children with financial education. The project will see £5,000 allocated to each participating school, with lessons to include household budgeting workshops, financial planning, insurance, pensions, as well as preparing students for adulthood and the world of work. Cardiff’s Willows High School has received more than 30 laptops from Circle IT, which has introduced a scheme to regenerate a range of IT consumables and donate them to local schools across South Wales. Young entrepreneur Sarah McHarg has received a special award and bursary from the Cardiff Business Club for her enterprise, Massages for Pirates. Sarah, 28, established her business in 2017 with support from youth charity The Prince’s Trust Cymru. After losing her job and suffering a series of illnesses, Sarah wanted to explore self-employment but didn’t know where to start.
