Thursday daytime online singing sessions from the Goldies Cymru Charity are proving to be a big hit. After the lockdown Goldies leaders in South Wales, Rachel Parry and Cheryl Davies, decided that they would make every Thursday special for the older folk across South Wales who could not attend their daytime singing sessions for the time being by introducing a weekly online singalong. SING&SMILE charity is reaching across South Wales with fun-packed daytime singing sessions for older people. On Tuesday November 6 – five days before the nation commemorates the end of World War One – a very special event takes place at The Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot. Hundreds of older people from across South Wales who attend the Goldies Cymru Sing & Smile fun daytime sessions plus primary school children from local schools will take part in a day which will be based on the commemoration of WW1. With its growing number of daytime fun sing-along sessions, the Goldies Cymru Charity is taking off across South and West Wales. Fondly referred to simply as ‘Goldies’, the growth of the charity has been supported by the Cardiff-based Moondance Foundation and the Big Lottery Fund in Wales.
