Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, actor Richard Mylan has told Rachel Burden why he and his autistic son, Jaco, are continuing their daily visits to Cardiff Market through the ongoing lockdown. They’ve previously visited the market hundreds of times as it closes up for the night – now it’s closed indefinitely, but it’s still a key feature of their daily walks. Richard Mylan, who appeared in BBC drama Waterloo Road, said: “In normal life, we would walk around town regularly. He would go into…

Children’s charity Barnardo’s Cymru knows a thing or two about teenagers and with the news that the lockdown has been extended for at least another three weeks it is offering some useful online advice for parents.   Sarah Crawley, director for Barnardo’s Cymru, said: “If you’re struggling to keep your teenager in the house and sticking to lockdown rules know that you’re definitely not alone.”  Teenage brains work differently to adult brains. Developing independence and freedom is one of the…

So here we are then, week 4 into lockdown, with all of us still sat in our homes, slightly shell-shocked, wondering how on earth life as we knew it could be turned on its head in a flash, spun around a few times, given an almighty shake and then dropped back down on our laps for us to deal with in whatever shape or form it landed. I think we can all safely say that the situation we’re currently living…
