Every year at the start of December, Sands Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity hold a ‘Lights of Love Service’ at St Saviour’s Church in Splott, Cardiff.  This is comprised of carol singing, Christmas songs, and poetry reading to help support families who have lost children through stillbirth and neonatal deaths. The students of UWC Atlantic College organised a Peace Protest in Cardiff to raise awareness of the Rohingya Crisis in Myanmar on Friday the 10th of November. They read poetry, sang protest songs, spoke about the experiences of being a refugee, and performed moving street theatre to attract the attention of passers-by. New research from Cardiomyopathy UK shows that 68% of people in Cardiff don’t realise that a cause of sudden cardiac death is genetic and 49% are unaware of their family history of heart disease. Canine fosterers are urgently needed to care for former racing greyhounds and lurchers who have been given a last chance at life by a special rescue scheme. Greyhound Rescue Wales is appealing for animal lovers across Wales to help care for dogs saved by its ‘Last Hope’ fund.
