Vaughan Gething, Health Minister of Wales has paid a visit to pupils at a high school who’ve decided to cut down on the use of plastic bottles. Pupils from St Illtyds Catholic High School, in Cardiff, believe that plastic bottles are contributing to the growing plastic pollution of the oceans and are on a mission to reduce their own plastic waste. The environmentally-friendly grounds care practices being adopted by Cardiff University are being recognised this year by the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) Industry Awards as the university’ grounds team is shortlisted for a major nationwide accolade – the Ransome’s Environmental and Ecology Strategy Award. Research published by a leading vegan charity today shows the Welsh are the most environmentally friendly group surveyed, with all respondents doing at least one thing to help the environment on a weekly basis.
