Action for Children has found that two fifths of children in Wales have been separated from their brothers and sisters when placed in foster care. I am joining the charity in asking people in Wales not only to consider fostering, but to consider fostering siblings, so that children who have had a difficult start in life can heal and grow together.  The five star St. David’s Hotel & Spa hosted a ladies indulgence evening last week which brought together more than 150 females to shop, eat and be pampered, in aid of Wales’ leading cancer charity Tenovus. Rhian E Jones (left) and Eluned Phillips Back in September, Curtis Brown Creative announced details of a new scholarship for Welsh writers, the winner of which would receive a fully funded place on our Online Novel-Writing Course, taught by Commonwealth Book Prize-winning author Lisa O’Donnell. The Eluned Phillips Centenary Writing Bursary asked writers either born in Wales or currently residing in the country to send in the first 3,000 words of their novel, along with a one-page synopsis, from which the best would be chosen. A mother-of-two who created themed “rummage bags” to help dementia patients by triggering their memories has won a national award.
