A selfless Cardiff woman who continued supporting brain injury survivors after her own breast cancer and arthritis diagnoses has been shortlisted for a national award. An inspirational mum from Cardiff has won a national award for her campaigning and fundraising achievements in support of Diabetes UK Cymru. Beth Baldwin received the Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes People’s Award at an awards ceremony in Guilford on Wednesday 18 October. BBC Children in Need has announced that it has awarded a total of £215,628 to two local projects providing services to disadvantaged children and young people. The charity currently funds 22 projects across Cardiff, with over £1.3m invested locally. Cardiff’s Willows High School has received more than 30 laptops from Circle IT, which has introduced a scheme to regenerate a range of IT consumables and donate them to local schools across South Wales. A mum from Cardiff will be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise funds for Diabetes UK Cymru after her daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
